DIFT - Willemsfonds


It all started with a new branding...

Willemsfonds Flanders & Brussels has been around for 160 years and is still dedicated to promoting culture and Dutch. They are the oldest Flemish cultural association, but also are a pioneer and innovator. By organising and promoting cultural activities, they bring people together and encourage them to participate even more in culture.

Accompanying this one-step-ahead organisation should be a similar brand identity. It was a challenge we were happy to take on. Based on the existing logo (with the owl), we created a modern and modular branding that can be adopted depending on the event, book, or whatever Willemsfonds would like to promote.

... and lead to a revolutionary campaign image

Next to the identity, Willemsfonds asked us to create the campaign image of Het Betere Boek (the better book), the literary festival organised by Willemsfonds. The 2017 edition theme was Russia, a country known for revolution, thanks to for example Pussy Riot.

In the campaign image, you can discover all sort of typical Russian figures, such as tzars, comrades, philosophers, … going to battle while reading a book. The illustration was made by Randall Casaer based on a creative idea by DIFT.
